Terms & Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to Vin Checkin. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Vin Checkin provides comprehensive vehicle history reports (“Reports”) to users. These reports aggregate data from multiple public and private sources, including the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), state departments of motor vehicles, auto auctions, and other third-party data providers.
3. Internal and Personal Use Only
3.1 All Reports purchased or accessed through Vin Checkin are strictly for your personal and internal use only.
3.2 You explicitly agree that you will not resell, redistribute, sub-license, publicly display, or otherwise exploit the Reports (or any data contained therein) for any commercial purpose without prior written authorization.
4. Acknowledgment of Third-Party Intellectual Property
4.1 You acknowledge and agree that the vehicle history data provided in our Reports is sourced from third-party partners, including but not limited to ClearVin.
4.2 All data, designs, logos, and reports are protected by intellectual property laws. You acknowledge ClearVin’s intellectual property and copyrights over their respective data and report formats. You may not modify, alter, or remove any copyright notices or trademarks contained in the Reports.
5. National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) Disclaimer
The National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS) is an electronic system that contains information on certain automobiles titled in the United States. NMVTIS is intended to serve as a reliable source of title and brand history for automobiles, but it does not contain detailed information regarding a vehicle’s repair history. All states, insurance companies, and junk and salvage yards are required by federal law to regularly report information to NMVTIS. However, NMVTIS does not contain information on all motor vehicles in the United States because some states are not yet providing their vehicle data to the system. Consumers are advised to visit vehiclehistory.bja.ojp.gov for details.
6. Liability Waiver & Disclaimer of Warranties
6.1 The Reports and all services provided by Vin Checkin are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. Vin Checkin and its data partners (including ClearVin) do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information contained in the Reports.
6.2 Liability Waiver: To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to waive any and all claims against Vin Checkin, its affiliates, and its third-party data providers (including ClearVin) arising from your use of the Reports. Vin Checkin and its data partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the data provided, or from your reliance on such information when making vehicle purchasing decisions.
7. Payments and Refunds
All purchases are subject to our payment processing terms. Due to the digital nature of our Reports and the costs associated with retrieving data from external agencies, all sales are final. Refunds will only be considered in cases of technical failure where a report could not be generated after payment was successfully captured.
8. Changes to Terms
Vin Checkin reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on this page. Your continued use of the website constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
